Sometimes it amazes me how barbaric we are.

I worked on Black Friday, and I heard the tales of employees being trampled to death, fist fights breaking out, and guns being fired. Over what? Shopping? Sales? The holiday spirit? Generosity be damned; we're selfish, greedy, and heartless at the time of year when we broadcast the joys of giving.

And it makes me sick.

Moving on, (I don't like to dwell on human ignorance for too long), Ian downloaded the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix game onto the 360. It looks amazing, is as fun and frustrating as the original, and I love it! I know I need something to hold me over until Street Fighter IV comes out. Udon's deviant art page has a section specifically for the artwork of the HD, and I recommend going through it. And speaking of Udon, they've finished the first Street Fighter II Turbo comic, and IGN uploaded the full issue. Well worth the read. ^_^

In other video game news, the Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories game is scheduled for release soon. It should be nice to see a remake of the GBA game, and from what I understand, it's the same game, only with 3D graphics instead of 2D. Persona4 is out soon, as well, and I'm still wanting to pick up another Atlus RPG, Eternal Poison.

I have a bunch of unfinished artwork in need of completion, as always. I've been working on colouring my berserker picture, designing the characters in the Waking Dream story (which doesn't have much of a plot, yet), designing my Warrior character fan art, and I still haven't finished the picture of Mab that's been sitting around.

Maybe some day soon.

But for now, I'm focusing my attention on my colour theory class, and Ohayocon. I need to finish that Chun Li costume...

Today is the last day of my drawing class. Our final projects were due yesterday, and I'm very impressed with how many of them turned out. It's amazing to see how rapidly people can improve, especially since our classes are only five and a half weeks long. One student e-mailed me and asked if we could keep in touch after the course was over, to continue critiquing each other and follow my collegiate career and beyond. He's the first person who seems serious about networking, and I had enjoyed his classwork and critiques, so I agreed.

Tomorrow I begin my colour theory course. I've already been spending time on the site, seeing when my assignments are due and what I need to read. I always liked my theater design classes, so I'm pretty excited about this one, particularly because in theater I never really learned about colour usage and terminology. I hope that I'll be able to create some portfolio-worthy pieces in this class.

As far as my art goes...I've become very inspired by the Warrior books that I've been reading. I've been meaning to draw anthropomorphic versions of some of my favourite characters, but school comes first. There are a lot of pictures that I've started on but never finished, as well. I need to make it a point to go back and complete those. Things like my Berserker, my Final Fantasy XI art, and some random characters are at the top of my list.

In other news, Gears of War 2 is out now. I did work the midnight launch of it, but I didn't mind because I grabbed my copy and played through the first couple of chapters that night. I'm happy to see more story development in this title, better facial expressions, and bigger levels. I don't think that there's been a video game that's evoked so many emotions in me; there was actually one point where I wanted to cry. This game has definitely made me want to work for Epic even more, and I can't wait to get my art degree, create a portfolio, and go out there and make a damn good game!
